Homemade Fruit Pops for Kids and Boozy Popsicles for Adults
Fun whole fruit popsicles for kids and refreshing boozy treats for adults! Just in time for hot summer days at the beach or park.
It's summertime and you can finally let your kids loose on the playground to burn off all that energy that was previously spent in school. This is the perfect time to whip up some delightful treats for the whole family. So, I decided to make whole fruit push pops for the kids and some boozy pina colada ones for the grown-ups. Because hey, parents need to have a little fun too!
These treats are quick and easy to make, otherwise I wouldn't put in the effort. Plus, besides the fact that they're delicious and fun to create. When you whip up these frozen goodies at home, you have complete control over what goes into them. Say goodbye to mysterious food coloring and excessive sugar found in store-bought popsicles. You can use fresh, wholesome ingredients that you and your little ones will love. Plus, by using reusable molds, you're not only reducing plastic waste, but also teaching your kids about the importance of taking care of our planet. It's a win-win situation—yummy treats and a greener world!

I use my trusty Ninja blender for these, but any blender will do the trick. I love my Ninja TWISTi because the small motor fits perfectly on my crowded kitchen counter. It's usually my avocado smoothie sidekick, but it's perfect for making these small batch popsicles too!
For the little ones, I took inspiration from Yummytoddlerfood's Whole Fruit Ice Pops. Just two ingredients is all you really need, my friends! Grab some fruit (we went with strawberries, but feel free to experiment with your kids' favorites) and a splash of juice to blend it all into a smooth purée. If you want to up the creaminess, toss in some yogurt or coconut milk. A touch of maple syrup or honey will sweeten those popsicles to perfection – but remember, no honey for the tiny tots under 12 months! I use these nifty reusable silicone ice pop molds, and this recipe makes enough to fill 4-6 molds.

- Ta-da! You've got some chilly strawberry push-pops.
But wait, I didn't forget about the grown-ups. It's party time for us, too! My husband adores pina coladas on the beach, so I whipped up some boozy pina colada push-pops. Of course, you can skip the rum for a kid-friendly version, but why not let the adults enjoy the privileges of drinking responsibly? Now, don't worry, these pops won't have you suffering from a mid-day hangover. The alcohol content is pretty low, but make sure you can tell them apart from the kid-friendly treats. I reserved solid colored molds for the adults and got mixed colored tubes for the little ones.

Now, here are some tips for keeping these frosty delights chilled when you're out and about. Pop them into a sealed bag (the half gallon Stasher bag fit up to 6 of these tasty treats). Then, slip that bag into an insulated backpack or lunch box along with a few reusable ice packs to keep those popsicles nice and frozen.
Get ready to whip up these fruity wonders, soak up the sun, and witness your little ones' giggles of pure delight as they savor these frozen treasures. Enjoy every moment of your beach days or playground adventures because, only 70 days until school is back in session – not that we're counting! Until then, let those boozy ice pops work their magic and help take the edge off the long summer days. Cheers!
