Let's dive into the wild world of Disney dining with your little munchkins. This is a continuation of my series on traveling to Disney with your kids – if you missed the first two installments you can find them here Disney World with Kids: Tips for a Magical Experience and here What to Bring for a Day at Disney

Today, we're going to reveal the best places to chow down at Disney World, as dictated by our resident food critics—the kids! We'll start with the quick service options because, let's face it, the advanced dining reservation game at Disney can be as challenging as potty training a stubborn two year old.

😎
Psst! You can always summon your trusty Disney travel agent to book those hard to get dining reservations for you!

Best Quick Service Dining at Disney World for Kids

So, what made it to this prestigious list? Drumroll, please! These restaurants had to cater to the finicky taste buds of our little angels. When our children were in their peak impossible to please toddler phase, they would only devour chicken nuggets, French fries, and maybe a bite of fruit if we bribed them with a Mickey Ice Cream afterwards.

Let's be honest, when you're at Disney World, your brain is on sensory overload from the magic in the air. We've learned not to expect our highly sensitive kids to embrace culinary adventures when they're already working overtime to take in so much. Mealtime is their chance to decompress, stuff their faces with (hopefully nutritious) safe foods, and recharge their batteries before diving back into the Disney adventure.

Sure, if the eatery manages to please our sophisticated adult palates on top of that, you've won the Disney dining lottery! But the priority here is preventing those epic toddler meltdowns that can turn a multi-course gourmet feast into a epic disaster. Because trust us, nothing ruins the flavor of your food quite like the soundtrack of meltdown central.

A final crucial factor—indoor seating and air conditioning! You know you're in for a "hot" mess when the Florida sun is roasting you like a turkey leg, and you're sweating buckets while trying to enjoy your meal. So, we scoured the parks for cool (literally) spots to munch.

Skip those endless lines and order ahead from anywhere! That's right, no need to call on your inner genie to navigate those crowded food queues. All you need is your trusty phone and the My Disney Experience app. How to order your meal from your phone.

Epcot

Oh, Epcot, the land of culinary delights! Unfortunately, most of the kid-friendly places here forgot to crank up the AC. But fear not, the many indoor pavilions provide respite from the heat even if dining must be al fresco.

  • Connections Eatery (World Celebration - near Guardians of the Galaxy | $14.99 and under) They've got pizza and French fries, and it's one of the few quick service options at Epcot where you can enjoy your meal in air-conditioned comfort.
  • Refreshment Port (World Showcase | $14.99 and under) We stop here for poutine (fancy fries with toppings) and, more importantly, it's the only place in Epcot with chicken nuggets.
  • Yorkshire County Fish Shop (World Showcase - Britain | $14.99 and under) Can't go wrong with the British classic: fish & chips.
  • Katsura Grill (World Showcase - Japan | $14.99 and under) We've got a bona fide sushi lover in our family, so you better believe we don't sleep on the Tokyo sushi combo with a California Roll on the side. And if it's an unseasonably cool day, or we managed to snag an air conditioned table indoors, we might just summon the courage to slurp on some lip-smacking Tonkatsu Ramen.
  • Les Halles Boulangerie (World Showcase - France | $14.99 and under) - if you or your child has a sweet tooth, this is the place to go for dessert connoisseurs. The pressed brioche ice cream sandwich will make you go "magnifique!"

Animal Kingdom

  • Restaurantosaurus (DinoLand U.S.A. | $14.99 and under) They serve hot dogs, mac and cheese, and it's the only place in Animal Kingdom where you'll find chicken nuggets. A dino-mite choice!
  • Satu'li Canteen (Pandora - World of Avatar | $14.99 and under) Step into this former RDA mess hall for a "Teylu" hot dog wrapped in dough and cheese quesadillas. And if your kids love cheeseburgers, they might go gaga over the Cheeseburger Pods—steamed bao buns filled with cheeseburger goodness.

Hollywood Studios

  • ABC Commissary (Commissary Lane | $14.99 and under) The kids can fill up with black beans and rice and PB&J Uncrustables while enjoying the chill Hollywood vibes.
  • Rosie's All American (Sunset Boulevard | $14.99 and under) The only place in Hollywood Studios that serves chicken nuggets. It's classic American fare for the whole family.
  • Docking Bay 7 and Cargo (Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge | $14.99 and under) If your little Jedi knights are up for a different chicken experience, try the Fried Chicken Tip Yip youngling meal (fried chicken over mac & cheese). A galactic treat!

Honorable Mention: Woody's Lunch Box (Toy Story Land | $14.99 and under) didn't quite make the cut because there's no indoor air-conditioning, but if you can brave the heat or find a coveted spot in the shade, the kids can come here to enjoy a side of tots and ooey-gooey grilled cheese sandwiches.

Magic Kingdom

  • Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn (Frontierland | $14.99 and under) At this Old West saloon the adults can fill up on delicious Tex-Mex offerings while the little ones enjoy black beans, rice, mac & cheese, and churros before riding off into the sunset.
  • Cosmic Ray's Starlight Café (Tomorrowland | $14.99 and under) As your kiddos indulge in the chicken STRIPS (yes, no nuggets here, folks) and velvety mac & cheese, let animatronic superstar Sonny Eclipse serenade you with his intergalactic jazz tunes. Prepare for an out-of-this-world feast!
  • Columbia Harbour House (Liberty Square | $14.99 and under) They've got a shrimp skewer that will make little taste buds dance and PB&J Uncrustables for the littlest seafarers.
  • Tortuga Tavern (Adventureland | $14.99 and under) Sink your teeth into hot dogs and peanut butter/chocolate & banana sandwiches, but check the current menu as it frequently has new offerings!

Best Disney Full Service Dining with Kids

Now, let's move on to the best full-service dining experiences for you and your little monsters! These are the most kid-friendly signature dining experiences that we (or our amazing Disney agent) always hope to snag a couple of those elusive advanced dining reservations.

Yes, it might cost you a pretty penny, but hey, sometimes an extended break from the scorching heat is worth its weight in gold. And let's not forget the magical bonus of beloved characters and mind-blowing theming that will keep your fidgety kiddos glued to their seats throughout a multi-course meal. Get ready to savor the flavors, soak up the enchantment, and make priceless memories that will last a lifetime.

Epcot

Garden Grill (World Nature - near Soarin' | $35-$59.99 per adult) Seriously underrated character dine experience on a rotating platform! Here you'll meet Farmer Mickey, Chip & Dale, and Pluto. Giant platters of all-American homestyle food including salads made with ingredients grown right there in the Living With the Land gardens below are brought to your table. Plus, the tables on the outer edge are set up in a cozy and secluded way that's perfect for sensory-sensitive kids.

Honorable Mention: Akershus Royal Banquet Hall (World Showcase - Norway | $35-$59.99 per adult) Hold onto your tiaras, Disney Princesses Storybook Dining is back at Epcot, and it's the ultimate dream come true for those kiddos who can't get enough of their favorite princesses. Now, fair warning, the Norwegian-inspired menu might not have a ton of options for our selective eaters, but let's be real, when you're dining with princesses, the focus isn't on the food. It's all about the magical experience and living out those fairy tale dreams, one bite-sized adventure at a time!

Animal Kingdom

Tusker House (Africa | $35-$59.99) Welcome to Tusker House, a character dine that brings you face-to-face with safari-ready Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy. Their African-inspired buffet is a culinary adventure for the whole family. And don't worry, there are plenty of safe foods for the picky eaters, like roasted chicken, macaroni & cheese, potatoes, plain white rice, bread and rolls—something for everyone!

Hollywood Studios

Sci-Fi Dine (Commissary Lane | $15-$34.99 per adult) Rev your engines and make your way to Sci-Fi Dine! Imagine dining in a '50s-style car while watching classic movies on the big screen. It's a blast from the past, with familiar favorites like chicken noodle soup, chicken bites, mac & cheese, burgers, and ice cream sundaes. Fasten your seatbelts for a deliciously entertaining meal!

😎
Heads up for those with little munchkins, some of those 50's sci-fi flicks might be a tad scary. We're talking bugs, robots, monsters, and even zombies! Us grown-ups might find them hilariously campy and cheesy, but manage your little ones' expectations accordingly. Here's a list of what's playing.

Honorable Mention: The newest themed dining to hit Hollywood Studios, Roundup Rodeo BBQ (Toy Story Land | $35-$59.99 per adult), looks super fun for the whole family. You are "shrunk down" to the size of a toy and dine among Andy's playset. While you're there you might even experience your own "Andy's Coming!" drill. Unfortunately, the current menu options don't quite cut it for my picky eaters. If you have a kid who appreciates barbecue, see if you can score a reservation here!

Magic Kingdom

Crystal Palace (Main Street, U.S.A. | $35-$59.99 per adult) Calling all fans of Winnie the Pooh and friends! Crystal Palace is the place to be. Say hello to the whole gang while feasting on an all-American buffet. No waiting around for courses here (unlike Be Our Guest or Cinderella's Royal Table)—perfect for those hangry, fidgety toddlers who just want to get back to the magic.

Dining Beyond the Parks

Now, let's talk about the food courts at the Disney resorts. If you find yourself having breakfast or dinner at your cozy abode, pay attention! Our favorite spot for value and plenty of safe foods is the Everything POP Shopping & Dining. Plus, you can cross the bridge to Art of Animation's Landscape of Flavors for international-inspired fare like chicken stir-fry and tandoori chicken. The whole family can embark on a culinary journey without leaving the resort!

If you're not in a rush to hit rope drop or perhaps have some time before catching a flight back home on your last day, the Breakfast à la Art with Mickey and Friends is the character reservation to score. This one wins for having the most delicious breakfast options and a chance to see the Fab 5 in their finest artist frocks. Finally, a character dine where the food does not seem to be an afterthought!

Have a kid (or adult) with food allergies?

In our family alone, we've got a whole bunch of allergies ranging from peanuts to shrimp, and even apples and strawberries can cause a reaction! Disney is great about accommodating food allergies. Just let a cast member know up front, and they will go above and beyond to ensure a safe dining experience for your family.

Many restaurants have special menus or dedicated allergy-friendly options that are guaranteed to be safe. Disney takes allergies seriously and trains their staff to handle these situations with care. The last thing we want is to have to cut our day at Disney short to run to the emergency room, so we appreciate the extra precautions Disney takes to keep everyone safe and happy.

So there you have it, from quick-service delights to full-service feasts, Disney World offers a variety of options to cater to even the pickiest of eaters. Remember, mealtime is not just about refueling, but also a chance for your kids to decompress, reset, and indulge in some magical flavors.

So grab your Mickey ears, pack your appetite, and embark on an adventure leaving the hangry tears behind. Bon appétit and may your Disney dining experiences be filled with laughter, joy, and a sprinkle of pixie dust!
